San Diego Chargers 23, Tennessee Titans 17 in OT

The Chargers snatched this game from the jaws of defeat with an outstanding 4th quarter and OT period to improve to 8-5 on the season.  Philip Rivers had a so-so game as he completed 23 of 40 passes for 228 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 interceptions.  LaDainlian Tomlinson had a monster game as he carried the ball 26 times for 146 yards (5.6 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 5 passes for 27 yards (5.4 ypc) with a TD grab.  His TD run was the game-winner in OT (16 yards).  Chris Chambers led the way in the passing game for the Chargers with 4 catches for 90 yards (22.5 avg).  Antonio Gates had a solid game with 6 catches for 57 yards (9.5 avg) including the game-tying TD that sent this game into OT.  The Chargers finished up with 148 yards rushing on 30 carries (4.9 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 42 passes for 193 yards.

The defense was led by linebacker Matt Wilhelm who had 10 tackles and a sack.  LB Shawne Merriman (5 tackles, 2 sacks) and CB Antonio Cromartie (2 tackles, interception) also had solid games for the Chargers.  The Titans finished up with 131 yards rushing on 37 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 24 passes for 109 yards.

    WOW! what an awesome game yesterday! I still can’t believe LT’s touchdown!!! blew me away! To bad Denver didn’t lose to KC, we would have that AFC West title secure by now. You also have to hand it to Philip Rivers, the guy was tough yesterday. Dude, I’m so pumped I already have sports betting odds on the Chargers beating Detroit next week. ANy word on Shawne Merriman’s knee? He got really banged up there and I can’t find any updates on that.
