The Chargers had to feel good about this game at halftime as CB Antonio Cromartie returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a TD to give the Chargers a 14-7 lead at the half.  But then the roof caved in.  Philip Rivers was awful as he completed 19 of 42 passes for 197 yards with a interception.  LaDainian Tomlinson also had a rough game as he carried the ball 16 times for 40 yards (2.5 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 6 passes for 37 yards (6.2 avg).  Chris Chambers led all receivers on the Chargers with 59 yards on 5 grabs (11.8 avg).  TE Antonio Gates had a really quiet game with only 1 catch for 10 yards.  The Chargers finished up with 42 yards rushing on 20 carries (2.1 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 42 passes for 187 yards.

Matt Wilhelm led the way on a day the Chargers D would like to forget with 14 tackles.  Rookie running back Adrian Peterson of the Vikings set a new NFL record when he rushed for 296 yards in this game on 30 carries (9.9 ypc ) with 3 TD runs.  The Vikings finished this game with 378 yards rushing on 43 carries (8.8 ypc) and they also completed 13 of 22 passes for 150 yards.
