The Chargers didn’t do anything fancy in this game as they just lined up and kicked the crap out of the Raiders.  Philip Rivers certainly didn’t have his best game of the season as he completed 14 of 21 passes for 156 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT.  The interception was returned 66 yards for a TD by Raiders linebacker Thomas Howard.  LaDainian Tomlinson had the breakout game everyone knew was coming soon as he carried the ball 24 times for 198 yards (8.3 ypc) with 4 TD runs!  He also caught 4 passes for 16 yards (4.0 avg).  TE Antonio Gates pitched in with 3 grabs for 58 yards (19.3 avg).  The Chargers finished up with 206 yards rushing on 32 carries (6.4 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 21 passes for 156 yards.

Linebackers Shaun Phillips (9 tackles, 2 sacks) and Shawne Merriman (6 tackles, 2.5 sacks) came up with monster efforts to lead the way for the Chargers defense.  The Raiders only rushed for 53 yards on 23 carries (2.3 ypc) and they completed 24 of 37 passes for 193 yards.
