San Diego Chargers vs. Denver Broncos

The Broncos are in a tailspin and have lost 3 games in a row.  The Chargers have won 6 in a row, including a 35-27 win in Denver.

The Broncos will try to run the football with Tatum Bell (782 yards rushing) against the stout Chargers run defense which is only allowing 92.5 yards rushing and 3.9 yards per carry so far this season.  If the Broncos don’t get their running game going, Jay Cutler will be a sitting duck.  The Chargers already have 44 sacks and 13 interceptions so far this season, so Cutler will have to think fast.

LaDainian Tomlinson (1,324 yards rushing) should have a fun time with the ex-Browns along the front-line of the Broncos defense.  Look for Philip Rivers to get his yards too, probably throwing to Antonio Gates against the slow safeties of the Broncos.

Cutler is going to make some huge mistakes, and the Chargers are going to make him pay big-time.  The Chargers are going to win this football game….and BIG!

Chargers win tough one over Bills 24-21

This was quite simply, the LaDainian Tomlinson show in Buffalo.  Tomlinson carried the football 28 times for 178 yards (6.4 ypc) and 2 TDs.  LT also caught 3 passes for 14 yards.  Philip Rivers did a decent job of managing the game.  Rivers completed 17 of 29 passes for 160 yards and a TD.  Antonio Gates was the main target with 7 receptions for 90 yards and a TD.

Donnie Edwards was causing trouble all day long against the Bills, as he racked up 18 tackles.  Shawne Merriman added 3 tackles and 2 sacks.  The Bills could only muster 63 yards rushing on 24 carries (2.6 ypc).  The Bills completed 21 of 37 passes for 167 net yards passing.

This was a huge win for the Chargers that pulled them even with the Colts at 10-2 in the AFC.

San Diego Chargers vs. Buffalo Bills

The Chargers are smokin’ hot as they’ve won their last 5 games and 7 of their last 8.  The Bills have won two in a row and 3 of their last 4 games.  Something has to give here.

The Chargers will probably keep the gameplan basic as the weather could be bad in Buffalo.  The Bills allow 135.2 yards rushing per game and 4.8 yards per carry so far this season. LaDainian Tomlinson should have a field day against the Bills as he has already rushed for 1,146 yards and 21 TDs this season.  Philip Rivers will probably stick to the short stuff in the passing game and attack the young safeties of the Bills with Antonio Gates.

The Bills must run the ball well with Willis McGahee (642 yards rushing) or it could be a long day for the Bills offense.  J.P. Losman has been playing better of late, but the O-Line will have their hands full with the return of Shawne Merriman.  Lee Evans (60 rec, 880 yards) can probably beat the Chargers DBs deep if given the time.

The Chargers are just the better football team here….even if it’s cold.
