Chargers hold off Broncos 35-28 in Denver
The Chargers got themselves a huge win in Denver on Sunday Night. Philip Rivers completed 19 of 26 passes for 222 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs (one of which was returned for a TD!). LaDainian Tomlinson was awesome in this game. He carried the ball 20 times for 105 yards (5.3 ypc) and 3 TDs. He also caught the ball 3 times for 74 yards and a TD. Antonio Gates caught 5 passes for 48 yards. Eric Parker (4 rec, 42 yards) and Vincent Jackson (3 rec, 39 yards, TD) both helped out in the passing game.
LBs Donnie Edwards (8 tackles) and Shaun Phillips (4 tackles, INT, forced fumble) led the way on defense. The Broncos carried the ball 35 times for 158 yards (4.5 ypc). The Broncos only completed 13 of 28 passes for 168 net yards thru the air.
This was a huge win for the Chargers, who are now 8-2 and in first place in the AFC West.
